Mr. Kailash Katkar is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quick Heal Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Kailash Katkar was born into a Maharashtrian family in a small village at Rahimatpur, Maharashtra on 1st November, 1966. He grew up in Pune and from a very young age he chose to break the norms of attending rigorous classroom sessions and decided to divert his inquisitiveness and hard work to creating his own business. This little spur of thought guided by sheer grit and gumption drove him to set up his own business – from a small one-room, boot-strapped electrical device repair station to a Security Solutions empire spread over 100 countries worldwide. The company has global offices in Dubai, US, Japan and Kenya. It has a well-connected network of 15,000 plus channel partners worldwide. Quick Heal Technologies employs more than 1100 people across 38 branches in the country.
Before working on his own, he served as a maintenance engineer at Data Star Electronics. His business acumen and astute sense of market trends prompted him to take over this virtually dying technology and transform it into a Computer maintenance and hardware peripherals company – CAT Computer Services, in 1991. When his younger brother Sanjay Katkar, came up with a highly reviewed project on Computer viruses during his post grad, he encouraged him to take a step further by diversifying their core capabilities into the creation and development of antivirus solutions. Both brothers founded Quick Heal Technologies in the year 1994 and focused solely on the in-house brand ‘Quick Heal’, creating marketing strategies and reworking on operational strengths to build a dedicated Research and Development center and a strong ground-support team that now spans over 30 cities in India.
As the CEO, his strategic business partnerships that have continuously produced significant business value for Quick Heal Technologies in the form of financial performance, customer satisfaction and loyalty, market share, and productivity. He also leads the strategy for how to best manage and orchestrate the delivery of Quick Heal products and services for customers.
His strong commitment to operational excellence, innovative approach to business problems, and aptitude for partnering cross-functionally have reshaped and leveraged the security brand as the most preferred solution in consumer and SOHO segments and have rearranged the brand preference in enterprise segment.
