Super Cluster and Venture Studio collaborations

There is a felt need to build super clusters for automotive company focused startups and Autonebula pushed this vision in 2015.  With more focus on mobility, many investments happened in last decade, largely in mobility or aggregation space and the vital formation of cluster having all stakeholders remained an open challenge. STPI initiated a focused lab approach for automotive startups in 2019. However COVID seemed to have curbed the physical incubation and virtual incubation remains the most viable option. However the essence of infrastructure and investments are needed continuously.

Interacting with David Mumby from Australia, who attempts to have over 19 startup spin off in Australia through his venture studio effort. It seems automotive business collaboration with Indian startups seems an option, but he also feels that the startup founders need to be more experienced and mature to deal with startup life cycle pressures.   Shine Gopal, who heads to cross border super cluster vision and largely focuses in African market also feel that there are very good opportunities for theme based programs in Africa and Automotive startups can be a good option.

Super Cluster is a concept for theme based initiatives undertaken jointly in collaboration with government, private companies to boost the sector.  It becomes important for India to also boost and encourage theme based incubators for bringing in more value to particular sectors.
